The idea and the woman
Womazing was founded in 2010 and has become one of the most successful companies in our country. Like many Italian firms, Womazing remains a family business, even though none of the family members are fashion designers.
We operate according to a successful formula, relying on well-known designers to create our collections. This method was described by fashion critic Colin McDowell as a form of collaborative design, typical of several Italian prêt-à-porter companies.
Magic in the details
The first Womazing store opened in a small town in the north of the country in 2010. The first collection consisted of two coats and a suit, which were copies of Parisian designs.
Although the founder was trained as a lawyer, her family was always closely connected to sewing (the founder’s great-grandmother made clothes for women, and her mother established a professional cutting and sewing school). The ambition to produce clothing for the masses held great potential, especially at a time when high fashion still dominated and a market for quality prêt-à-porter simply did not exist.
